The 2GIG KEY2-345 is a wireless security key fob designed to fit on your keychain. The KEY2 is powered by a lithium coin cell battery. Just like most 2GIG products the unit operates on the 345MHz RF frequency back to the panel and has a maximum RF range of 350 feet in open air. It is a four button key fob that can be used to easily arm and disarm your 2GIG Go!Control alarm system.
All button presses require a press and HOLD for 2 full seconds! The icon of a person walking is the arm away button. The icon of a person inside a home is the arm stay button. The open padlock icon is mapped as the disarm function. You can even program the key fob so that pressing and holding the disarm and away buttons together initiates a panic alarm. Depending on the programming, you can have that panic be audible or silent. Finally, there is also an asterisk button that can be configured to control the solid state relay output built into the 2GIG Go!Control panel as well as the 2GIG GDR1-345 garage overhead door relay.
Terminals 3 and 4 on the 2GIG panel are designed to output 250 mA @ 16 VDC to ground when the relay is triggered. As mentioned above, you can directly enroll the key fob with the GDR1 relay. There is an RF pairing process that requires the installer to press and hold the 'learn' button on the side of the garage relay. Then simply activate the asterisk (*) button on the key fob within 15 seconds. The receiver should flash after the key fob is properly enrolled.
The KEY2 is a versatile, convenient remote for all the functions mentioned above. It is a great product for arming/disarming the alarm system from outside the protected premise. This allows you to set shorter (or eliminate) entry delay periods which offer intruders less (or no) time to gain access to your home or business.
